Who are we collectively as a community? What is possible? What lives at the center of our shared dreams for a more beautiful Salt Spring? What can we do here and now to move incrementally towards a more beautiful world right here in our community?
If these questions inspire you, consider joining our community of practice founded on the following intentions:
• An ongoing monthly gathering of Salt Spring Island residents exploring the realms of civic participation, stewardship and innovation.
• The gatherings are held in an 'open space' container focused on fostering imagination, mapping and coordination.
• These gatherings will take place at public spaces.
• Each gathering involves three roles, which any participant can hold:
The facilitator’s role is to create a safe and open space for participants to share their ideas, collaborate, and make decisions.
The storyteller's role is to capture and share a harvest of what emerged from the gathering in an ongoing repository (knowledge commons).
The alchemist's role is to nurture the space and its participants, establishing a land altar and inviting the sacred into our practice.
• These intentions will evolve organically based on the will of those actively participating in gatherings.
