Join The Florida Museum and First Magnitude Brewing Co. for an all-out PALOOZA to help support pollinator conservation on Saturday, June 21st from 2-6 PM in the First Magnitude Beer Garden! 🥳
Special pollinator-themed beers will be released both on tap and in cans, FREE pollinator-friendly plants will be given away, and we’ll have live acoustic music, food trucks, plus community partners! 🦋
Pollinators are an extremely important part of the ecosystem but you don’t have to be a biologist to help protect them. Planting native flowering plants in your yard, patio, and even in pots can provide vital habitats and food for bees, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators. Learn about the importance of native plants, wildflowers, and more at this family-friendly event!
PLANTS UP FOR GRABS:
(one per guest, while supplies last)
Swamp Milkweed
Cutleaf Coneflower
Forked Bluecurls
Darrow’s Blueberry
Crossvine
Swamp Hibiscus
Gold Lantana
Prairie Coneflower
TABLING ORGS:
- Members of the Gainesville Area Bee Club will have an observation hive with live honey bees!
- The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department is on a mission to help residents document unique plants that support pollinators around their homes and gardens using the iNaturalist app.
Even in busy urban areas, yards can be an oasis for plants and wildlife. Many plants we think of as “weeds” are actually beautiful native wildflowers! By keeping weeds in your yard, you are supporting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Plus, these native plants thrive without extra water or fertilizer. This means you can save time and money on your landscaping, all while supporting pollinators. Now that’s a win-win!
