Free Information Session on Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY)

If you are a therapist or work in another helping profession, please join us for this free information session. Mary will discuss the theory and practice of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), which is an evidence based intervention for the treatment of complex trauma and and PTSD. This intervention has been found to be as effective as talk therapy through 20 years of original research.

If you work with survivors of trauma and/or complex trauma, this info session will be an opportunity for you to learn about a somatic approach to healing, an additional resource and adjunct therapy for your clients, and some ways that you can be more "trauma sensitive" in your work.

Here's what you can expect from this informative session:

• An introduction to the intervention, including a brief history
• A brief overview of the theoretical underpinnings
• Explanation of the core components of the practice
• Short description of the supportive research
• Details about which clients are best supported by this intervention
• An opportunity for experiencing the practice yourself; Mary will provide an option for a short TCTSY practice (no prior yoga or fitness experience required).
• Information about how Mary is utilizing the practice with clients and upcoming offerings.

Mary Bobowiec, LMHC is a local therapist and Certified Facilitator of TCTSY (TCTSY-F). She has been enjoying yoga for almost 20 years, counseling for 8 years, and facilitating TCTSY groups for the past year.
