West African Drumming Classes are held every Thursday, term time for adults, from 1.30 to 3 pm in Frome.
Have you ever wanted to learn an instrument, improve your memory, coordination, and well-being, or drum in a group?
African drumming is for everyone, and anyone can play!
You will learn to play traditional African polyrhythms on good-quality djembes. I will teach you technique, hand placement, different time signatures, and traditional rhythms from Mali, Senegal, and Guinea.
You don't need any prior knowledge; you just need to be willing to have a go
Drumming is more than just a great way to bring people together through the connection and energy of creating a rhythm in a group. It also has significant health benefits. It can strengthen neurotransmitters in your brain, have a relaxing effect on your body, and boost your immune system.
All abilities and levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced
