Description:
Join artist Elsa Mora for a six-week exploration into the world of building ceramics by hand. Hand-building ceramics is a gratifying process that requires a combination of knowledge and practice. It involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using your hands, fingers, and basic tools. The foundational techniques are pinch pot, coiling, and slab building, offering many artistic possibilities. Elsa Mora will teach you these methods in a step-by-step, detailed process throughout this six-week class.
Whether you’re a total beginner or someone with experience who wants to delve deeper into these techniques, this class is designed to meet your needs. You’ll find a supportive learning environment that caters to all skill levels.
Weekly classes include:
3 hours of instructional time per week
Open Studio time (unlimited studio access) can be purchased for $129.00 for the duration of the class (six weeks)
Clay, glazes, and firings.
Tools and materials. Please bring your apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy.
Extra clay is available through the studio for $30 for 25 lbs.
Open to anyone 18 or older.
There are no refunds on 6-week classes.
