Are you interested in Dungeons and Dragons, or other tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs)? Feeling inspired by Actual Play podcasts like Adventure Zone, Critical Role, or Friends at the Table? Would you like some help learning the basics of the rules and creating a character?
Whether you're just beginning with TTRPGs or you're an experienced player/GM who just would like a new person's perspective, we'd be happy to help! We can walk through creating characters in your system of choice, and help with deciding on a backstory. We can also recommend other TTRPG programs available within the Alameda County Library system, if you are looking for games.
Current list of tabletop RPGs we have some level of familiarity with:
- Dungeons and Dragons (3rd, 4th, and 5th editions)
- Age of Sigmar: Soulbound
- Pathfinder (1st and Second editions)
- Austin Walker's Realis
- Ys: Age of Heroes
- Shadowdark RPG
- Forgotten Ballad
- Fellowship (1st and 2nd editions)
- Fabula Ultima
You may want to bring your own character sheet, especially if it is for an obscure system. We will have sheets on hand for a few different TTRPG systems, but we will not be able to print out more once the workshop has started. If you would like help getting started with a TTRPG not listed above, please bring along the rules for it. If time allows, we can read through it together.
Registration highly recommended!
