Duke of George presents
Bang Bang Betty & the H-Bombs
There really will be a “Whole Lotta Shakin Going On” tonight!
Bang Bang Betty & the H-Bombs’ explosive mix of jump blues, swing and rock n roll has wowed crowds as far afield as Japan. In the past 12 months, the band has performed headline sets at the Eastern States festival "Cooly Rocks On” and “Jivers Stomp” (Tokyo), sold-out the Ellington Jazz Club with their Fringe event “Jump Sister Jump” AND launched their 3rd vinyl record “Fatal Attraction”, with a sold-out show at Lyrics Underground. Featuring Coo Jarvis (lead vocals & piano), Andy Jarvis (guitar), Mark Sprogowski (tenor sax), Marc Gordon (double bass) and Dom D’Leno (drums), the band’s musicianship is matched by their exciting repertoire, mixing authentic originals with a fabulous selection of 50s sounds.
Their date at the Duke of George in September, will feature stand-alone songs from Bang Bang Betty & the H-Bombs AND a reprise of their Fringe event Jump Sister Jump, with guest vocalists Peta Lee (the Vibrolators) and Randa Khamis (Randa & the Soul Kingdom) joining the band, for an epic evening of hot blues, gospel and rock n roll!
Jump Sister Jump celebrates of some of the greatest female blues and gospel artists of the 40s and 50s, with 3 singers sharing their passion for the exciting music of artists like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Ruth Brown, Big Maybelle and many more. Shut your eyes and you’ll swear you were back in the early 50s. There really will be a “Whole Lotta Shakin Going On” tonight!

Review of this year’s FringeWorld sensation JUMP SISTER JUMP (X-Press magazine, Feb 2025)
"The band are amazing… with three incredible vocalists taking the spotlight for different tracks and backing each other up seamlessly. The energetic and uplifting atmosphere was like a gospel church, praising the spirit of the blues and the women who made it so great. There were whoops, hollerin', hands clappin', feet tappin' and more, as Bang Bang Betty and guests led the communion in a swingin', singin' celebration!"
