Anders Holst is working on a new piece that transforms the performance space into an immersive sound installation. With a custom-built 6-way pickup system and an omni-directional speaker array, Holst creates a multidimensional sonic environment.
“I view my instrument, the electric guitar, as three interconnected elements: the guitar, the signal chain, and the amp/speaker. By using an omni-directional speaker, I allow the sound to interact with the inherent acoustics of the space, opening new possibilities for a fulfilling sonic experience — both for the audience and for myself as a listener,” Holst explains.
Having explored the solo guitar format extensively, through concerts and several solo albums, Holst now embarks on a new chapter: “New ideas and approaches to the instrument are emerging. I’ll let them develop further, and then try to catch them all during this residency — diving deep into the potential of these ideas, my own musicality, and my imagination of the instrument.”
Taverna Residency Series is a platform for sharing new music and sound art, where the local community in Vanløse and the surrounding area can meet high-quality experimental music and sound art.
