Tribe 84 Sound System returns to Ungdomshuset for the second time to provide a night of pure Roots & Culture and heavy Reggae-Dubwise music.
Due to the success of our previous session in November 2024 we have established a close collaboration with both Jarmuż Gostyński and Ungdomshuset to kick off a series of new sound system events.
All Tribes Welcome event series will aim to gather and present various musical acts in an old school sound system fashion where equality in the venue is at the highest regard. By organizing these events we would like to pay homage to the origin of this commonly used phrase meaning that all kinds of people regardless of their ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, gender or identity are invited to share the space and enjoy the message of conscious music.
To fulfill that mission, we will bring artists from abroad as well as local sound systems and crews with a common goal to unify and strengthen the alternative-music community in Denmark and beyond.
For the first event in this series, we would like to present a profound sound system singer – Dixie Peach that will perform along Tribe 84 Sound System in a four-hour showcase. Dixie is one of the original voices in the reggae and dub music since early 80’s. Known best, for his big hits on Jah Tubbys label, through numerous releases with the Disciples and various other labels he has earned a status of a real sound system veteran. Be prepared for some conscious lyrics and highest quality of UK sound system style singing.
Tribe 84 Sound System is bringing of course their hand-made hi-power sound, amps and gear together with a ton of vinyl records to make sure you get the best quality of sound and music. Our crew has grown since last time and we will therefore present the new member- Carl with a saxophone showcase on many of the song versions. Local DJs as Gummm, Mikkel Kanel and Bistand will make sure you get a proper warmup and finish in a higher bpm fashion.
