What is Speakers’ Corner?
Speakers’ Corner is a historic tradition of open public dialogue that began in 19th-century London’s Hyde Park, where everyday people gathered to freely share ideas, debate issues, and challenge perspectives. It became a symbol of free expression, respectful disagreement, and community conversation, a place where anyone could stand up and be heard.
Backyard Speakers’ Corner brings that spirit to Fredericton in a warm, local, human way. We host friendly outdoor gatherings where people can explore big questions together from purpose and belief to ethics, society, and everyday life…through respectful, open conversation.
