📢 STAND UP FOR OUR SCHOOLS – Sept. 10, 5 pm, FCPS BoE Meeting @ 191 S. East St.
On Wednesday, September 10, we need our community to show up and stand for ALL students in Frederick County. A group calling itself “Better Maryland Schools” is planning a large “parental rights” rally outside the Board of Education building at 5:00 p.m. before the FCPS Board of Ed meeting. This group does not represent all families or support inclusive policies that keep students safe.
👉 Consider coming by 5:00 with signs and helping show support for ALL our students and lining up at the doors to sign up for one of the few day-of speaking spots or signing up for public comment spots that open 5 days before the meeting on FCPS website.
👉 At 5:30 pm the Board of Ed doors open and we need folks to file in and fill the seats. Students and staff need to see folks who support ALL our students and staff.
✅ What to wear: Supportive colors/shirts or Rise Up Frederick shirts if you have them! – (please avoid orange and green, which are being used by the opposing group)
✅ What to bring: Positive, student-centered energy + clear signs showing our message of inclusion and support.
Let’s make sure every student and family sees that Frederick County stands on the side of equity, safety, and belonging. ✊
