Blind Draw Scotch Doubles. Double elimination. 8 Ball winner side, 9 Ball looser side.
Entry Fee: $20
All lower handicap players will go into a different draw and be drawn with higher level players (2,3,4 and 5,6,7).
Rules:
Lag for break on the 1st game and winners continue to break.
Winners side will be 8 Ball APA rules. All races are to 2.
Exception is there is no win for making the 8 on the break. If that happens the 8 will be spotted and the shooting player will continue to shoot with an open table.
Looser side will be 9 Ball Texas Express rules. All races are to 2.
Hit the lowest value ball on the table first and if any ball sinks you continue to shoot. Do not have to call the 9 ball.
Exception is there is no win for making the 9 on the break. If that happens the 9 will be spotted and the shooting player will continue to shoot.
Push Out shots after the break are allowed (even if the lowest ball can be seen). If the opponent requests the player to shoot again the player that pushed will shoot again.
Timeouts:
Each team will have 2 timeouts per game. It is not a timeout to discuss strategy while your opponents are shooting. Once your opponent’s miss and the balls come to rest, you can no longer discuss strategy without taking a timeout. Penalty for taking to many time outs is ball in hand to the opponent.
Scotch Doubles Rotation:
Player rotation resets after each game. Either player can break each game.
