Queensrÿche is an American progressive metal band formed in 1982 in Bellevue, Washington. Known for complex compositions and socially conscious lyrics, they rose to fame with the albums Operation: Mindcrime (1988) and Empire (1990), which featured the Grammy-nominated hit "Silent Lucidity." Despite lineup changes, including Todd La Torre replacing Geoff Tate in 2012, Queensrÿche continues to record and tour, remaining a key influence in progressive metal.
