When: The course takes place over two weekends,
on July 19th + 20th, and on July 26th + 27th,
from 11:00 to 13:00.
We offer an introduction to Balboa — the elegant swing dance of the 1930s, renowned for its close embrace and quick footwork.
For whom: The course is designed for absolute beginners. You will learn fundamental footwork ("pure-bal") and essential figures ("bal-swing"), with a strong emphasis on partner connection.
You do not need to enroll with a partner if you do not have one, we will take care of a balanced leader-follower participation.
Price: The contribution for the crash course is €50 only.
The participation fee will be entirely allocated to the Frankfurter TurnVerein (FTV) to finance future dance events (e.g., live music, etc).
We want to keep this affordable to everyone, so if you are a student, unemployed or have any other issues, just contact us, we will find a solution.
Please note:
Classes will be held in English.
German translation will be offered if requested.
What you need:
Bring comfortable dancing shoes.
Slippery soles are good to have, but not a must at this point!
You will dance very close, so you might want to bring some extra shirts.
Where: FTV, Pfingstweidstr. 7, 60316 FFM,
MZR1 (small room) on Saturdays and
Hans Goetsch Hall (big hall) on Sundays.
