Nippon Connection feiert sein 25-jähriges Jubiläum! Vom 27. Mai bis 1. Juni 2025 lädt das weltweit größte japanische Filmfestival zu einer sechstägigen Entdeckungsreise durch die vielfältige (Film-)Kultur Japans ein. Besucher*innen dürfen sich auf rund 100 Kurz- und Langfilme unterschiedlichster Genres freuen. Von aktuellen Blockbustern über Animationsfilme bis hin zu Independent- und Dokumentarfilmen feiert ein Großteil der gezeigten Werke ihre Deutschland-, Europa- oder internationale Premiere auf dem Festival. Das Publikum hat während des Festivals die einmalige Gelegenheit, mit zahlreichen aus Japan anreisenden Filmemacher*innen und Künstler*innen ins Gespräch zu kommen und mehr über ihre Werke zu erfahren. Ergänzt wird das Filmprogramm durch eine Vielzahl an spannenden Rahmenveranstaltungen. Neben Workshops und Vorträgen geben Konzerte, Ausstellungen sowie japanische Marktstände Einblicke in die Kunst und Kulinarik des Inselstaates
Für die besondere Atmosphäre des Festivals sorgen die beiden in Pink erstrahlenden Festivalzentren Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm und Produktionshaus NAXOS mit vielen japanischen Markt- und Essensständen. Weitere Veranstaltungen finden im Kino des DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, Cinéma Arthouse Kino, Mal Seh’n Kino, Internationalen Theater Frankfurt, Saalbau Bornheim, Pupille Kino und NaxosAtelier statt.

JAPANESE CINEMA AND CULTURE
Nippon Connection is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Frankfurt am Main, Germany! From May 27 to June 1, 2025, the world's largest Japanese film festival is offering an invitation to a six-day journey of discovery through the diverse (film) culture of Japan. Visitors can look forward to around 100 short and feature-length films from a wide range of genres. From current blockbusters and animated films to independent and documentary films, the majority of the works shown will be celebrating their German, European, or international premiere at the festival. During the festival, the audience will have the unique opportunity to talk to numerous filmmakers and artists arriving from Japan and learn more about their work. The film program is complemented by a variety of exciting cultural events, including workshops and lectures. In addition, concerts, exhibitions, and Japanese market stalls will provide insights into the art and cuisine of the island nation.
The festival’s special atmosphere is created by the two pink-lit festival centers, Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm and Produktionshaus NAXOS, featuring numerous Japanese market and food stalls. Additional events will take place at the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, Cinéma Arthouse Kino, Mal Seh’n Kino, Internationales Theater Frankfurt, Saalbau Bornheim, Pupille Kino and NaxosAtelier.

日本の映画と文化
ニッポン・コネクションが設立25周年を迎えます！2025年5月27日から6月1日まで、ドイツ・フランクフルトで開催される世界最大の日本映画祭が、日本の多様な映画と文化を発見する旅へと皆様を招待します。初夏の6日間、現地でしか味わうことのできない体験が待っています。ニッポン・コネクション映画祭では、あらゆる年齢層の来場者に日本映画と文化に触れる機会を提供します。現在公開中の話題のブロックバスター映画やアニメーション、インディペンデント映画、ドキュメンタリーまで、幅広いジャンルの短編・長編映画、約100本を上映予定です。その多くが、ドイツ、ヨーロッパ、または日本国外でのプレミア上映となります。多数の映画関係者、アーティストも来場し、Q&Aセッションなどを通じて観客との交流を深めます。さらに、ワークショップ、講演会、コンサート、美味しい屋台など、日本の多彩な魅力を紹介するカルチャープログラムも充実しています。映画とともに、日本文化を存分に楽しめる6日間をお届けします。
映画祭メイン会場であるKünstler*innenhaus MousonturmとProduktionshaus NAXOSでは、再び日本の屋台が並び、ピンク色に輝く映画祭の独特な雰囲気を演出します。そのほか、DFF – ドイツ映画研究所＆映画博物館（DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum）、Cinéma Arthouse Kino、Mal Seh’n Kino、Internationales Theater Frankfurt、Saalbau Bornheim、Pupille Kino、NaxosAtelierの各会場でも、多数のイベントが開催されます。
