Join the Frankfort Area Historical Society (FAHS) for a journey back in time. This in-person event will take you on a fascinating walking tour down Kansas Street showcasing the stories and buildings that make our downtown unique. Eight narratives about locations significant to Frankfort's history will be covered in about an hour - walking tours at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
The information about these locations has been curated from our museum, newspaper accounts, personal interviews with relatives/friends of families, historical accounts written for the Frankfort Centennial in 1955 and Rachel Gilmore's pictorial history of Frankfort. Cheryl Howard is the conductor for the tour.
In order to assure quality audio during the walk, the tour groups will be limited, so reserve your tickets now. This event is FREE for FAHS members - call the museum at 815-469-6541 to reserve your ticket. Tickets are non-refundable. Walking tour takes place rain or shine.
Don't miss this opportunity to walk through history and discover the hidden gems of our town's past. See you there!
