Colossus Records Presents: A solid lineup of local and fly in acts to grace your Monday Night before a large week of shows in beautiful Meanjin. All proceeds to the artists - Featuring Mulubinba post-punk act Horse, Naarm 6 piece dark-wave group Shock Corridor, local indie rock band Miss Mardy, and to close the night off local alt-punk band Special Features, fresh off their 'Che Guevara T-Shirt' single release. About the acts...
Special features offer an ode to the grunge soundscapes of the 90s while at the same time presenting a glimpse into the future of Australian rock, they are an alt-rock quartet composed of Zac Carr (vox, guitar), Jeremy Sankey (vox, bass), Charlie White (guitar) and Alex Smith (drums). As rugged as a cricket ball by the end of a test match and as delicate as a teenager experiencing their first breakup, Special Features seamlessly flow from rambunctious punk-rock anthems into introspective soft-rock ballads, showcasing talent far beyond what’s expected from four mates fresh out of adolescence.
Horse are an indie post-punk from Mulubinba. Forming in December 2024, Horse have created a structured soundscape for their live performances. Blending ambient and driving guitars with high energy drums supported by enhancing bass and embellishing keys.
Shock Corridor are making music that turns your favourite things inside out and back to front. With roots in dark-wave, trip-hop, and post-punk, the band offers a triptych of macabre imagery nestled inside the comfort of an iron lung.
Miss Mardy... With angst from the 2000’s New York garage rock revival scene and the emphatics of Fontaines D.C & The Belair Lip Bombs, Miss Mardy comprises of Rhythm Guitarist and Lead Vocalist Danny O’Rourke, Lead guitarist Max Hodge and Rhythm Section; Kyle Bedford (Drums) and Tom Doherty (Bass). Since beginning the band in 2021, Miss Mardy has recently signed with Anti-Dismal in preparation for their upcoming debut single in august.
