I’m Turning 54… and Doing Something Completely Unreasonable. Again.
On Monday, June 30th, I’m celebrating my 54th birthday in a way that absolutely no one recommends—by running a 5K… riding 1,000 miles on my motorcycle… then running another 5K.
Yep. Run. Ride. Run.
All in one day.
Why? Because some stories deserve to be carried the hard way.
This is The Pavement Pounder—a personal mission wrapped in sweat, saddle time, and sore legs. And I’m doing it for something far more important than myself.
I’m doing it for mental health. For healing. For hope.
Specifically, I’m doing it to raise funds and awareness for an organization close to my heart: STEPs with Horses, where horses and humans come together to heal through trauma-informed, horse-assisted counseling and mental health programs.
As someone who has seen too many people—including my brother—struggle silently, I believe it’s time we stop pretending we’re okay and start showing up for one another in powerful, practical ways.
And hey—if I’m willing to wreck my knees and flatten my butt on a motorcycle seat for 1,000 miles, maybe you’ll be willing to help me make it count.
