NBCUniversal Local is teaming up with Humane Fort Wayne and hundreds of shelters across the country to host 'Clear The Shelters' throughout August 2025!
Get your tails out and ADOPT during Humane Fort Wayne Clear the Shelters ‘25! Humane Fort Wayne will be joining hundreds of animal shelters across the country in a nationwide pet adoption drive to help find loving homes for animals in need. Will you join us?

✅ Ready to adopt and help us CLEAR THE SHELTER? Read these tips:
🐾 If possible, fill out an adoption application prior to the event. Pre-approved adopters will have priority over non pre-approved adopters. Read details about our adoption process and fill out our application here:

🐾 If you have not been pre-approved for adoption from Humane Fort Wayne, we will need to approve your application before you are able to adopt. Make sure your animals at home are spayed/neutered and are current on their shots. Bring proof of rabies (paper certificate from your vet's office) - Not only a Rabies tag!
🐾 Be prepared to wait! From start to finish, the adoption process may take a few hours to complete.
🐾 Be prepared for a big crowd and lots of fun!
