Jughead: Face Jug Sculpting with Jeff Ocasio

Sculpt over an empty tequila bottle and give it a face only a sculptor could love … with teeth! This class welcomes artists of all levels, whether you’re a beginner excited to explore your artistic side or an experienced artist wanting to play with a new medium.

Jeff’s teaching style is relaxed, conversational, and encourages everyone’s individual creativity. You will learn the techniques of how to layer and manipulate the tape to achieve the desired shape and texture using masking tape, paper, and glass stones, to create a sturdy face structure around your tequila bottle, along with the intricate creation of a big toothy grin.

By the end of the class, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind sculpture that reflects the joy of contemporary folk art. Plus, you’ll receive an instructional handout with tips on how to seal and paint your creation at home with easily accessible materials.

The class kicks off with a short tour of the ocasiocasa art studio, along with other artists’ studios within DAAS CO-OP Gallery and The Union Artist Studios at the Arts & Eats Café. Join Jeff for an enjoyable day of art and inspiration!
