571st Re-Flagging and Organizational Day

On behalf of Major Kevin Zuniga, current commander of C Co 2-227th “Longhorn Dustoff” (Formerly 571st Med Det),

You are cordially invited to the Re-Flagging ceremony as the unit transitions to Fox Company (AA), 3-227th Assault Helicopter Battalion - Medevac (AHB-M). This ceremony will occur inside Hangar 7012 on Yoakum-Defrenn Army Hwliport of Fort Cavazos, Texas. (Time TBD) This is a public event but will take place on Fort Cavazos, so all visitors must register at the Visitor Center before entering the base.

Following the Re-Flagging, there will be a dedication of the “571st Legacy Room” in conjunction with an Organizational Day for Families and Friends. This event is restricted to current and former members of the 571st, C/2-227th, and F/3-227th and their guests.

The Legacy Room will contain unit photos, plaques, decor, patches, uniforms, and other memorabilia. The event will include tours of the Legacy Room, the new Blackhawks, and the simulator, as well as an opportunity to check out the new generation night vision.
