On July 2nd we will begin our next round of progressive lessons. On the first four Wednesdays of July we will be offering two separate four week classes. From 6:00-7:00 we will be offering an Introduction to Swing. From 7:00-8:00 we will be offering an Introduction to Lindy.
Introduction to Swing
The 4-week series will start by introducing basic 6-count footwork, solid lead follow technique as well as a number of moves that can be transitioned to the dance floor right away. This progressive class is geared towards folks who have never danced before. Join our welcoming swing dance community by signing up for Introduction to Swing today!
Note: We charge 1/2 price for those that are repeating the Introduction to Swing Classes.
We encourage students to take all four classes in the series and after the second week we do not allow new students to join.
Introduction to Lindy
This class will introduce to the wonderful world of Lindy Hop. If you are just starting out we would recommend first taking the Introduction to Swing progressive series. In this series will be introducing 8-count footwork, swing out from closed, swing out from open and a Lindy Circle. We will also be introducing and discussing general partner dance concepts including how to create an awesome connection with your partner. From a technical perspective we will touch on how angular momentum, the Goldilocks Principle and crescendo/decrescendo apply to this amazing dance. There is no better feeling than the "goosh" feeling of Lindy Hop. If time permits we will introduce additional moves and concepts.
