Historic Northside District Announces Cultural Collaboration with SiNaCa Studios,
Artes de la Rosa, and University of Texas at Arlington for ¡Qué Rica la Cultura!
Luncheon and Panel
FORT WORTH, TX — The Historic Northside District is proud to announce a collaborative
partnership with SiNaCa Studios School of Glass and Gallery, Artes de la Rosa, and the
University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) to present ¡Qué Rica la Cultura!, a luncheon and
panel discussion taking place on May 10, 2025. This cultural event underscores the
District’s commitment to fostering community-driven arts initiatives and supporting arts-
based neighborhood revitalization.
Though separate from the Glass Art Society International Conference, ¡Qué Rica la
Cultura! will spotlight the contributions of local artists, cultural leaders, and creative
entrepreneurs in shaping and preserving Fort Worth’s cultural identity.
The event will feature:
• Panel Discussion
Featuring renowned artists Einar and Jamex de la Torre, Carlos Donjuan, Arnoldo
Hurtado Escobar, and Benito Huerta, the panel will explore the power of artistic
expression in cultural preservation and community revitalization.
Moderator: Dennis Chiessa, Director of the Graduate Architecture Program at UTA,
whose expertise in architecture, urbanism, and placemaking will frame the
conversation around arts, culture, and community development.
• Luncheon
A curated, intimate dining experience catered by Chef Juan Rodriguez of
Magdalena’s, celebrating the intersection of food, culture, and creativity. The
luncheon will be hosted by Anette Landeros, Chief Strategy Officer for Trinity Metro
and Board Member for the Historic Northside District, and Jorge Baldor, Founder of
the Latino Arts Project. Together, they will welcome community leaders, artists, and
stakeholders to engage in a conversation about the future of cultural preservation in
Fort Worth.
• Performative Glass Art Demonstration
Capping off the day’s events, SiNaCa Studios will host a free, public glass art
demonstration featuring acclaimed artists Einar and Jamex de la Torre from 6:00 to
9:00 p.m. at their glassblowing studio in the Near Southside Arts Cultural District.
Known for their dynamic, mixed-media sculptures and distinctive visual language,
the de la Torre Brothers will create a new work in real time, offering attendees a rare
glimpse into their creative process. The demonstration will be narrated, providing
insight into their techniques, inspirations, and approach to glass as a medium for
cultural storytelling.
