ArtServe, in collaboration with ShangriLa Collective, proudly presents Wild Inside, the debut solo exhibition by South Florida mixed media artist Tina Wright. Curated by Kelcie McQuaid and supported by an Artist Support Grant from the Broward County Cultural Division, this immersive installation explores identity, perception, and shared humanity through participatory art.
About the Exhibition:
Wild Inside features silhouette-style mixed media portraits of ten Broward County residents, each created through personal interviews and layered with symbolic materials, found objects, and thoughtful storytelling. The result is a powerful, emotional portrait series that invites viewers to reflect on the complexities we carry inside.
Each piece is paired with audio and printed quotes from interviews that answer questions like:
What’s the hardest thing about being you?
What do you love about yourself today?
What are you grateful for today?
Visitors are encouraged to participate through interactive elements including:
A gallery observation wall
Audio recording stations
Hands-on “playshops” to create your own mixed media self-portrait
Artist Statement:
"At its core, Wild Inside is about vulnerability, connection, and celebrating the differences that unite us,” says Wright. “It asks: How do others see us? How do we see ourselves? And where do those stories overlap?”
