Introduction to Foraging Fungi

Join local wild food enthusiast Daniel Lacasta Fitzsimmons for the last fungi forays of the year and get to know the wonderful world of mushrooms. We will discuss the kingdom of fungi and their wider ecological role, as well as get to know some of our local fungi folk and, if we should be so lucky, meet some of the tastier fruits these hauntingly mysterious beings offer us. The workshop will cover responsible and sustainable harvesting practices, basic ID principles and tips on preparation and preservation techniques.

Meet Forres Friends at Sanquhar Pond carpark at 1.45pm. From there we will walk to the bridge where the fungi walk will begin.
