We are delighted to offer the 4th session of our arts project, funded by the ‘Newbold Legacy Trust’
Nadia will provide a 3hr Encaustic Workshop Programme. The session will include:
•Introducing the iron -
getting to know your primary painting tool.
Learn how to hold the iron to produce basic patterns and shapes
• Mixing colours with the painting iron -
Learn some basic colour theory and which colours work well together to create pleasing images and striking effects.
• Tissue techniques -
cleaning the iron and softening images by rubbing back the wax
•Creating a basic landscape -
simple techniques to create your first landscape painting in wax
•Building up to detail -
how to add simple and effective details with the point of the iron
Break for tea/coffee and biscuits - very important!
•Scrying technique -
discover magical worlds in the flow of the wax
•Scraper techniques -
refine areas with some detail using the pointed scraper tool
•A delve into fantasy - create a simple fantasy landscape
•Developing landscapes -
tree techniques with the painting iron
•Moving forward -
what can be done with the stylus tool.
All materials are supplied and you’ll be able to take your masterpiece home with you.
This session, for autistic adults (16 yrs +) is for a maximum of 6 people.
