antje vowinckel
antje vowinckel is an internationally awarded composer/performer based in berlin.
she works for a variety of public radio stations and festivals, recently with the ensemble die hochstapler (the imposters).
last year she performed with ensemble trigger her performance hold the line with international call center voices.
her works have received numerous awards, recently the prix phonurgia nova 2024 in france and the sound Cinema award 2023 in germany.
solo performance for vibrating loudspeaker, objects and voice: inspired by cars with big speakers and booming basses in her neighbourhood, antje hast turned the acoustic status symbol into an individual instrument. infra sound from a smartphone oscillator lets the speaker membrane vibrate. objects like metal sheets, chopping board mallets, styrofoam touch the center and start to rattle. layered and bent, they change the motoric of the percussive sounds.
the overtone movements combine with the voice and feed. With a few reduced gestures she “pushes” the sounds back and forth. an acoustic illusion which lets the sounds appear as an object.

in his solo live sets, he restructures tiny fragments and snippets of spoken language – found material along his own voice – into a nervous system that oscillates between sounds and glimpses of sense. a kind of technologically enhanced, trans-rational ’sample poetry
