Dragon Fall Run 2025

Dragon Fall Run is the main annual Fall meet for S2000 owners at the Tail of the Dragon. Come make friends, drive, and have a great time! This year will be a little different than usual, so please pay attention to the schedule changes.

The Spring weather in the Western North Carolina mountains tends to make for the best driving weather imaginable. Combine this with the wonderful roads and you have true driving bliss! No worries if you don't have an S2000. Car and driving enthusiasts of all makes and models are welcome and encouraged to join!

The event is free to attend, but we do ask that you sign up here to help us plan and so that we can e-mail you the itinerary. The itinerary will go out closer to the event. We also recommend that you visit the Dragon Events section of the forums on S2ki.com. There you will find active threads with updated information on different drives, events, and pinned information to help you plan your trip!

We would also encourage you to join the Performance Car Syndicategroup on Facebook. The official drive sign-ups will be on the forum, but the Facebook group serves as a great place to discuss, post pictures, find some event info, and generally keep in touch.

Event shirts and magnets will be available to display your enthusiasm to your friends! We will post more information about the design and how to purchase as the event draws closer.

Most people will arrive on Thursday, but some of us who can't seem to get enough will arrive earlier. Once you've decided you're ready for the best weekend you've had in a long time, call 800-849-2258 to reach Fontana and reserve your room. Tell them you're there to Rock the Dragon and receive a discounted rate, which is good for Wednesday through Sunday. Be sure to reserve your room before they fill up!

In the mountains, cell coverage is spotty at best. Therefore, we use 2-way radios to communicate. If you need help choosing a radio, plenty of information can be found in the Dragon Events section of the forums on S2ki.com. We keep them set to Channel 4.0

Most people will arrive this day. Keep an eye out on the forums for a possible drive!

Friday - Oct 3, 2023

8 am: Safety meeting in front of the Grill followed by an introductory drive across the dragon. If you've never attended before, we ask that you join this drive to learn how to enjoy the mountains safely and learn proper mountain driving etiquette.

9:30 - 10 am: A group drive somewhere interesting! Expect to get back to Fontana around 4-5 pm.

5-7 pm: Join us for a cookout! This is also when we'll be taking the group photo. The cookout will cost $10 per person and we need to know ahead of time if plan to eat. You don't have to eat to socialize and be in the group photo.

Cookout details:

The cookout will be held at the pavilion at the top of the Dam. To get there, turn right out of Fontana and go straight. Do not turn to go up the hill at the intersection. Just continue straight and the pavilion will be at the second parking lot on the right that you come to. If the parking lot is full, you will see another parking lot up on the left with plenty of overflow parking.

We must pay to rent the pavilion and we also must go purchase the food and drinks ahead of time. Because of this, we need a good head count and the cookout cannot be free. I estimate $10 per person should be enough to cover most of it. If you plan to eat at the cookount, please send $10 per person to cGVyZm9ybWFuY2VjYXJzeW5kaWNhdGUgfCBnbWFpbCAhIGNvbQ== via PayPal friends and family. If you are not able to confirm you are sending as friends and family, then please include a few extra dollars to cover the PayPal fee. If you intend to pay in person, please let us know at one of the cookout signup locations (either S2ki or the FB cookout event) so we can get a good headcount. If you pre-pay on PayPal, then you do not need to also sign up.

Saturday - Oct 4, 2023

8:00 am: Start lining up for the big rollout. Please arrive with plenty of fuel!

8:45 am: Driver's meeting

9 am: Rollout begins. This is where everyone at the event parades across the Dragon in one big group. This is something you'll want to be a part of.

After the Dragon: We will not stop at the other end of the Dragon. We will be continuing onward to the Classic Hondas on the Dragon car show. If you do not want to go to the car show, feel free to pull off and do your own thing. As we continue to the car show, please obey all traffic laws. We may get split up and that is ok. Once we finish the Dragon, we are not necesarily trying to stay together. Please load the route into your GPS before we leave Fontana. The car show will be held at William Blount High School, 219 County Farm Rd, Maryville TN 37801. We encourage you to visit the Classic Hondas on the Dragon FaceBook page.

Sunday - Oct 5, 2023

Sadly, the event officially ends on Sunday. You're more than welcome to keep slaying the dragon or exploring the area. If you haven't tried it by this point, we suggest having breakfast at the Deal's Gap restaurant before you go. The Dragon Bowl is my favorite! Once you get home you can start planning for the next trip!
