ABOUT
This event is a Gravity Enduro MTB Flow race open to Senior and Junior riders. This style of racing is really social, it will run for 6 hours from 9am - 3pm. Competitors will be able to start their liaison to start of the timed stages any time after 10am, each rider will be able to do up to 5 runs of each stage but only their best time from each stage will be used to create their total finishing time. The rider in each categories with the shortest final time is considered the winner. Only the Decent is part of the timed stage that is part of your finishing time, the climb to the start is not timed, but must be ridden. No shuttles permitted.
This race may be slightly more difficult than the first events for 2025, but still easy and achievable for most. It will still be suitable for any new riders who would like to give it a go.
The stages will be approximately 2 - 5 minutes in length. The U11 and U13 course may be a modified and shortened version of the Senior track likely to still be around 3 -5 minutes in length. Dirtmachines (3-7yrs) will have a supervised 15min ride session on a course of Coach Jason's Selection.
This event will still be suitable for any new riders who would like to give it a go.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd for each category, as well as other random prizes available throughout the day.
- Insurance
All rider must have an AusCycling membership
The types that are valid for this event are 4 week free trial, a day lisence, race off-road and race all disipline
Lifestyle memberships do not cover racing

- Bike Requirements
A safe bike that would pass a inspection. This means working brakes, safe inflated tires, handle bar plugs and the remainder of bike being in working condition.
- Rider Clothing
All riders must be in at least a t-shirt, shorts that cover to the top of the knee, closed in shoes and at least an open face helmet that meets Auscycling standards.
It is recommended that a full face helmet be worn as well as full length pants and a long sleeve shirt and gloves but these items are not mandatory.
- First Aid
There will be a designated First-Aid officer at the venue while riders are on course. There is also a Ambulance station located within 500m of the main trailhead.
- Accomodation/s
There are a few options for accommodation in Finch Hatton itself. There is the Criterion Hotel, the local showgrounds (Campgrounds), and even some air bnb's all located in Finch Hatton.
There are also plenty of options available in Mackay. Staying in Mackay does add roughly a 50minute commute to and from race start location.
- Bike Maintenance
Mackay has 2 bike stores. Mackay Cycles located Shop 7/8-14 Centurion Dr, Mackay QLD 4740 & Corry Cycles who are located at Corner of Gordon & Milton Street, Mackay QLD 4740.
Finch Hatton also has its own store, Corry Cycles Finch Hatton which will be offering both bike repairs and bike hire over entire race weekend
- Food/Meals
Food will be available for purchase from our club run BBQ, drinks will also be available. Drinking water is available free throughout the trailhead
Full sit down meals can be purchased from the Criterion Hotel in Finch Hatton
Delicious snacks and tea/coffee can be purchased from the Gift Shed Cafe in Finch Hatton
- Other Notes
Course Marshalls will be around the track to assist riders including Sweep Riders. Unfortunately, riding cannot commence until sufficient Course Marshalls have been secured. If you know someone who will be at the event who is able to Marshall, please contact the club.

U11 & U13 – Fastest overall time based on best total time from Stage 1 & 2

Opens, Elite & 30+ - Fastest overall time based on best total time from Stage 1, 2 & 3
E-Bikes - Fastest overall time based on best total time from Stage 1, 2 & 3
Our stages for this weekend are as follows
Stage 1: Starts at the Shuttle Drop the course will use the best bits of “Green Whistle” and “Your Shout” to finish on “No Wuckas” just above the Event Hub. This track is 1.9km long.
Stage 2 (The Fan favourite): A shared start hub at Kookaburra Junction – This stage starts with “Tasty Fig” and onto “Tinny” to finish near the Event Hub. This track is 1.6km long.
Stage 3 (The pedally one): A shared start hub at Kookaburra Junction – This stage flows across "Salubrious" before dropping onto “Pando’s Alright” then a small hair pin to follwo the new "kookies" trail to the top of the jump parka nd finish on “Bung Eyes”. Length 1.7km.
