Jazz on the Ave & Customer Appreciation Day Returns August 2nd, 2025!
On Livernois Avenue from eight miles to Clarita, a 1.5 mile Festival
Detroit, MI – Avenue Community Services, in collaboration with University Commons Wealth, is proud to present the 2025 Jazz on the Ave & Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, on Detroit’s historic Avenue of Fashion. This highly anticipated community celebration promises a vibrant, family-friendly day of music, art, entertainment, and local pride.
This year’s event features a spectacular parade with floats provided by Detroit’s legendary Thanksgiving Parade Company, accompanied by the powerful sounds of the Detroit Public Schools Citywide Marching Band, the Buffalo Soldiers, the Caribbean community. The celebration continues with a dazzling Classic Car Show and Cruise, GMC group with their specialty new vehicles, thought-provoking art displays curated by Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
In a heartfelt gesture to support youth and the arts, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be donating musical instruments to local children during the event.
Mike’s Market – Family Fun, Food & Live Music!
Every year, Mike’s Market features:
- Live entertainment
- Bounce houses and games for kids
- Free food
This area draws a large crowd and brings steady foot traffic throughout the day!
The festivities will also showcase a fashion show presented by Detroit’s number one boutique, adding a stylish flair to this day of celebration.
Jazz on the Ave & Customer Appreciation Day is more than an event—it’s a tribute to the community’s resilience, creativity, and unity. Everyone is invited to join in this celebration of Detroit's culture and the businesses that make the Avenue of Fashion a landmark destination. Selected Businesses will be offering a discount. Jazz on the Ave parade will be honoring the late Luther Keith, who started neighborhood festivals.
