Stargazing at Quail Hollow:
Friday July 18th, the Santa Cruz Astronomy Club will have a public observing night at Quail Hollow Ranch County Park in Felton, starting at sunset.
We will share our telescopes to show you the stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies.
The Sun sets at 8:25 pm.
The 40% last quarter Moon will have set at 2:33 pm.
If you have a telescope, you are welcome to bring it, and we will be happy to help you use it and answer questions. All ages are welcome.
If you are not bringing a telescope, please park on the left side by the ranch house. If you are bringing a telescope, please arrive before dark, park on the right side to unload it, and back your car in, so that your headlights face away from the telescopes when you leave. If the field is closed to parking due to soft ground, you will have to park on the left side and carry your scope onto the field.
Be prepared for cold temperatures after dark and please avoid using flashlights near the telescopes.
The event is subject to cancellation in case of cloudy weather or wet ground.
