Join Paranation for an immersive ghostly walk around Waverley Abbey. You will be taking part in ghostly experiments led by our experienced Team Paranation
History: Waverley Abbey was the first Cistercian monastery in Britain, founded in 1128, with a 13th-century refectory and an ancient yew tree
In 1201 the abbey was flooded and this happened regularly which meant the abbey had to be rebuilt during the 13th century. The monks would also provided shelter for pilgrims and travellers and an infirmary for the sick
Ghostly activity: We have experienced many strange ghostly phenomena over our years of ghost hunting at Waverley Abbey, including photos of a ghostly lady in a white dress with long black hair. Tales of shadowy monks, unexplained chants, and a figure seen near the arches. Visitors report cold spots near the altar and a sense of haunting throughout the site. The crypt is also said to be eerie, associated with a monk who died during a plague
