Michael Paratore, born and raised in Upstate New York, inherited the beauty and passion of music through his mother’s side of the family that is Middle Eastern cultural background. Given Michael's diverse ethnic background, he was fortunate to learn and train under his musically inclined grandfather and uncle, Tony Shaheen and Samuel Shaheen. Tony and Samuel were both world renowned violin virtuoso artists and performed with many famous musicians and singers in USA, Canada, and Middle East. All of these musicians and singers, including his grandfather and uncle, inspired Michael to take a keen interest with playing hand percussion known as the "Doumbek." Michael started training at the age of 9 years old and has years of experience with his unique element of mastered rhythms. Everyday of Michael's intense training and mastering of his exotic talent has enabled him to produce piercing beats with American pop culture, Arabic, belly dancers, and world music.
Over the years of Michael's musical practice, he has lent out his musicianship to recording and performing with acclaimed artists including Anton Cosmo, singer/song writer and lead guitarist for the original band "Boston." Michael performs on Cosmo's recently released album called "The In Between." Michael had the opportunity to record with Anton on one of the soundtracks called "Closer To Heaven." Michael performed side projects and recorded beats for Jeff Tortora, acclaimed as one of the lead drummers for "Blue Man Group" in Las Vegas and recently inducted in the "Hall of Fame" for Artists in Syracuse, New York. Michael has performed many times with Rich Ortiz, Este Brown, and Kaleem Issa who are nationally recognized as musicians and singers. In North Bergen, New Jersey & White Plains, NY show cased pop rhythms for two episodes of “Jersey Housewives” and performed with world-renowned saxophonist- Eric Knight Behrends.
