Hunger among our neighbors has been increasing over the last several years. The need for emergency food assistance will increase further when SNAP benefits are cut in a couple of years. Forgotten Harvest wants to engage interested citizens and responsible government officials in a discussion about how we can collectively prepare to meet this increasing demand for food assistance.
We invite you to attend a Combating Hunger in Challenging Times town hall forum with Forgotten Harvest CEO Adrian Lewis, Congresswoman Haley Stevens, and food security leaders from the State of Michigan, Oakland County, and the food pantry network to learn about existing challenges and to discuss ideas for meeting increased demand for our services.
The goal of this forum is to raise awareness of current and anticipated demands on the emergency food system and collaborate on ideas for how communities, nonprofits, and government can work together to prepare for increased need.
Attendees will hear brief remarks from each panelist and have the opportunity to ask questions or share ideas to improve emergency food access.
This is a free event, but an RSVP is required. Space is limited. Please register early.
Let’s work together to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.
