"I was born and raised on the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa reservation, where like many Native youth, I grew up surrounded by the beauty of my culture, and hardship. When I moved off the rez, underground music became a lifeline for me. It gave me a voice when I felt invisible. It helped me move through grief, isolation, and struggle. And most importantly, it helped me find community.
Rez Rockerz was created to be that kind of space, a place where Indigenous youth can feel supported, empowered, and proud of who they are. This camp isn’t just about learning an instrument it’s about connection, healing, and belonging. I want the next generation of Rez kids to know they matter, their voices matter, and their stories deserve to be heard loud and clear.
