7.00 All levels solo jam! We play with some classic vernacular jazz steps, a great way to work on your own movement for partnered dancing, but also a huge amount of fun in their own right.
8.00 All-levels Lindy Hop class: we'll get you out on the social floor, even if it's your first ever time. This is also a great class for more experienced dancers, as we'll share some technique ideas that you can play with to really focus on those fundamentals.
9.00-late SOCIAL! This is the main point of all of our events! Drink at our fully stocked bar and dance your heart out to our volunteer DJs.
PRICING
£8 for the whole night or £5 for just the social.
Dance Passes: £25 for a full pass, or £20 for a social pass. Dance passes can be used 5 times and have no expiry date.
EXTRA INFO
We recommend wearing something comfortable, including flat shoes, to move around in.
No need to bring a partner: we dance with different people throughout our classes.
We're a volunteer-run event, all money is put towards running costs like insurance and venue hire, and larger events. We're always looking for more volunteers, whether that's teaching, DJing or just generally helping out - let one of us know if you're interested.
Lindy Hop is a partnered jazz dance originating in the 1920s in Harlem, NYC. It's athletic, rhythmic and improvisational. As a vernacular dance, there aren't really any rules: anyone can dance any role, and ask anyone else to dance.
