Concerned Citizens of Fall River — Your Voice Matters!
Our Fall River Public Schools are facing serious challenges.
Some members of the School Committee have walked out of meetings, bullied and demeaned fellow members for asking questions, and even blocked others from speaking. The Chair, and three members of the committee have censored voices and contributed a hostile environment filled with shouting, name-calling, and a refusal to engage in open dialogue. This is not the example we want to set for our children.
Even more alarming, a recent report has exposed a deeply troubling culture within the Fall River Public Schools administration. The findings describe an environment marked by intimidation of staff, drug use, and incidents of sexual misconduct. The administration is trying to bury this story under the rug! Staff members have reported feeling unsafe and unsupported when raising concerns, and there are credible allegations that complaints are often dismissed or ignored — particularly when they involve individuals with political connections. This kind of toxic workplace culture doesn’t just harm employees; it undermines the integrity of our entire school system and puts our students at risk.
Beyond what the report details, there is a broader crisis of leadership and accountability. This administration has consistently dismissed the voices of parents and community members. Concerns brought forward at meetings are brushed aside, and families are often left feeling powerless. Even more disturbing, bullying among students continues to go unresolved — with repeated incidents being inadequately addressed or outright ignored. When children don’t feel safe in their schools, and when parents are silenced instead of heard, something is deeply wrong.
This is unacceptable.
We need new leadership. We need to support the committee members and staff members who truly care. It’s time to stand together and demand accountability, transparency, and respect.
