Parent & Me Class: Father's Day Themed BBQ Grill Cake

Join Celebrity Pastry Chef Dawn of Ravy Cakes for a fun and flavorful cake decorating experience designed especially for Father’s Day! In this hands-on Parent & Me class, you’ll work together to create a cake that looks just like a backyard BBQ grill—perfect for celebrating Dad.

Whether he's a grill master or just loves a good cookout, this class is sure to bring smiles and sweet memories. Chef Dawn will guide you step-by-step as you learn how to shape and decorate your cake to resemble a sizzling grill. You’ll practice piping techniques to create realistic hot coals and flames, and craft edible BBQ favorites like hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, skewers, and vegetables!

Chef Dawn will provide expert instruction plus additional cake decorating tips and techniques so that the teams will create a fun and professional cake to celebrate Father's Day!

All tools are provided to use while decorating the cake and cake boxes will be provided to take your creation home.

Chef Dawn will provide a custom "Happy Father's Day" Cake topper for the cakes.

Meet Your Instructor:

Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia where she started baking at the age of six. Dawn holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and has competed in many local baking events and in 2018 she competed on Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. All The Details:

• Age Level: 6+ with a parent/adult
• Skill Level: Beginner
• Each ticket includes 1 adult and 1 child. If you wish to bring more than 1 child to the class, there will be an additional charge of $100. Your 2nd child will receive their own cake to decorate and you will take 2 cakes home. Please contact Fran's directly to purchase your ticket to ensure we can accommodate an additional child.
• All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
• We will provide a box for each team to take your cake home in
• The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
• If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
• Class requires a minimum of 2 teams and there is a maximum of 7 teams. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
• Class will run approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.

Cancellation Policy:

Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
