Weave A Willow Garden Obelisk

Weave a willow garden obelisk! In this workshop, we’ll each be creating a 4′-6′ tall garden structure out of willow cuttings which is excellent for climbing plants like beans, peas, or flowering vines.

Students will learn how to select willow, treat cut ends to prevent rooting, and organize willow rods for weaving. We’ll focus on primary weaving techniques for strength and structure, and use weaving techniques such as ‘three rod wale.’
