PawPaws & Zebra Swallowtails!

Have you ever had pawpaw fruit? The Walter Reserve on Weistertown Rd. has a large patch but they haven’t fruited because they are all clones. We have introduced some genetic diversity to the colony, but they're a long way from becoming established. We will improve the likelihood that they will fruit by grafting scions collected earlier from the King reserve and other sources to the stand at the Walter Reserve. Join us to learn how this is done.
A very lovely butterfly, the zebra swallowtail, might exist in one or both of these nature preserves that is dependent upon the pawpaw tree for its existence. Learn more about this lovely pollinator and how we can improve their habitat!
