Spend a Tuesday evening with a unique performance project in a unique place:
'An Interview' is an ongoing series of encounters between rotating pairs of participants, who meet across a table in front of an audience to first revisit an interview conducted during the previous installment, and then to conduct a new, unrehearsed conversation. Every performance is specific, unique, and unrepeatable, while each encounter is connected to all the others by the format and sequence that carries through the project’s 9-year history.
Undercover Books is a one-of-a-kind rare & used bookstore and cultural hub nestled in Chicago's West Washington Heights with an actual private investigator's office right in the middle!

Returning participant Lynn Bagley is the co-owner of Undercover Books, Senior Staff Investigator for The Illinois Innocence Project, a performer, and a Private Investigator.
New participant B. Metzger Sampson is a writer, visual artist, teacher, frequent collaborator, and the Executive Director of the Chicago Poetry Center.
Ira S. Murfin created 'An Interview' in 2016 and has maintained it ever since. He has researched, written about, and made performance work that makes use of extemporaneous speech and explores the relationship between talk and text for more than 20 years.
