Rediscover the Unforgettable: Hike Sylva's Pinnacle Peak

Join us on September 12 at 9 am to hike up to the Pinnacle, at Pinnacle Park in Sylva. This hike has an elevation gain of roughly 2,000 feet, and while the out-and-back distance – the actual distance -- is 6.2 miles, the elevation gain will make it feel more like 10 (think of it as hiking’s equivalent of the Heat Index). The hike should take 5.5 to 6.5 hours.This trail is rated difficult. We recommend this for those who have previous experience hiking, although anyone is encouraged to try. This hike, while not easy, has one of the best payoffs in terms of view that you will find in this area. It’s definitely worth the effort.

There is a $7 fee for this hike, which is led by Jackson County Parks & Recreation Department.
