The Flowering Sun Ecology Center opens its doors to our local community and beyond to join us in celebrating the beauty and bounty of the midsummer harvest. Midsummer falls during the height of the growing season, a time when plants are thriving and crops are maturing. Ancient people, especially those in agrarian societies, held celebrations to pray for a bountiful harvest and honor the fertility of the land. Bonfires, music, and dancing were often part of Midsummer celebrations, believed to ward off malevolent forces and bring good luck and protection to the community and families.
Join us for a bountiful farm feast under the stars, by the light of the fire, within the embrace of the forest.
