BCF: The Power of Connections: Taking Social Capital to the Bank

The CAN Community Council will be hosting a series of "Building Community" forums.

During the pandemic workplaces went virtual (many still are), people aren't likely to depend on their neighbors (or even know them), and loneliness is at an all time high. Social capital, which refers to the value derived from social relationships and networks, can benefit not only individuals mental health and future health outcomes, but it can also help folks gain the tools they need to advance in their career or gain economic mobility.

In the first "Building Community" community conversation "The Power of Connections: Taking Social Capital to the Bank" we will look at different definitions of social capital, hear from UpTogether (a local organziation working to increase social capital for families), and discuss, as a community, how we can use social capital to advance social & economic well-being.

This forum will take place September 17th from 6-8 pm. The location is TBD.
