STAGEtwo is excited to announce the return of the Summer Playwriting Workshop! Once again, we are thrilled to welcome back the talented and experienced Yu-Li Alice Shen as our mentor for the Summer Playwriting Workshop!
The workshop will begin the June 29th and run for nine (9) weeks, followed by a staged reading of excerpts from each play on September 5th (if needed we may add a second night for the readings on September 6th). There will be two (2) meetings per week on Sundays and Wednesdays; some may be virtual based on participants' schedules. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to participate in the staged readings.
As always, at the staged reading, the audience will vote for the play(s) they'd like to see performed in a full live production! These votes will be weighted with votes from the playwrights and our STAGEtwo Board Members' input and the winner will be able to see their play performed live at the end of the 2025-2026 season! (Or 2026-2027, if it can't be worked into the current season, because we're still used to rapid changes now, right?)
Signing up on the form below is not a commitment, it simply provides us with a general idea of how many participants to expect. Participation in the workshop is 100% free, however, we do ask that participants who can do so provide a voluntary $35 donation to STAGEtwo to help defray the costs of running the workshop. This donation is voluntary, and no one will be turned away if they are unable to provide it!
