Announcing the first in an occasional series of Cultural Astrology Workshops. Five different astrology presentations include a talk about Hekate & Nemoralia are scheduled. Handouts will be provided. Doors open at 11:30 AM, the program begins at 12:00 PM.
PLEASE NOTE: Your personal horoscope star information can be part of the program if you submit your birth data at Pre-registration. Birth data must be sent in Before the workshop so we can cast horoscopes to be ready for the workshop.
Admissions for individual presentations are $15 each or attend for the entire day: five talks for $50. Light refreshments are included, with breaks and discussion between presentations. Senior discount available. Pre-register with Demetria Nanos by PayPal or Zelle.

"Behenian Stars and Their Antecedents"
The focus of this talk and slideshow are the Behenian Stars, emphasized in the Middle Ages and Renaissance as the West's most important stars for spiritual, religious, and magical purposes. We’ll discuss these 15 stars of the first magnitude, how they were viewed and commented on in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, the Levant, and Greece. Handouts on the Behenian stars will be provided.

“Gifts from the Past: Ancient Astrological Wisdom for Modern Astrologers.” Most of the ideas I will present were gleaned from my time with Project Hindsight. I will focus on IDEAS, basic concepts from the earliest astrologers, especially their philosophy. It is worth mentioning that all the earliest astrology writers explicitly identify themselves as Hermetic philosophers.

Demetria Nanos - Hekataean Ides and Nemoralia - A short talk & slideshow about the Hellenic Moon and Magic goddess Hekate and Italic/Roman goddess Diana Nemorensis. Their festivals were traditionally held in mid-August (Aug. 13 - 16, depending on the calendar in use). We touch on the cultural and religious significance of those festival days in the past and how they remain with us today.
