Memorial Day Events at the Cemetery

The Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association welcomes visitors on Sunday and Monday to join us in commemorating those who fought for our freedom. Flags will fly over veterans' graves. Hope Abbey mausoleum will be open both days from 11 to 5 and cake and coffee will be served. Taps will be played each day at 12:15 at the Public Square at the top of the hill. We will also be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the EMCA, the nonprofit organization that owns the cemetery and brought it back to life.
A guided tour of the cemetery will be offered on both days, starting at the mausoleum at 12:30. A history hunt will also be offered from 1 to 4 each day, starting in Hope Abbey where instructions are given. Participants will get a map and a clipboard and a short list of graves to be found in the cemetery. Prizes will be given to all who participate. This is a fun event for children and families.
Parking is on the street, with cemetery gates open at 11 for those who need to be dropped off and picked up at Hope Abbey. There is no parking in the cemetery.
