Melt the Mind & Dwell in the Heart
Shanti Shivani - lead vocals, tambura, monochord
Jesse Whitworth - oud, bouzouki, flute
Nisha Calkins - cello
Special guest Hafiz Leland on percussion (frame drum and doumbek)
Shanti Shivani and her highly gifted friends will be setting up a sacred space which allows the listeners to let go of the chattering mind and rest in the heart where they can experience Oneness with the Divine.
They will be offering sacred songs with call-and-response sections from the Sufi, Hindu and Buddhist traditions as a bridge between different religions and cultures. These chants bring mind, body, and voice together in a way that is spiritually liberating, and physically, mentally and emotionally restorative.
Shanti Shivani likes to call her concerts ‘Prayerformances’ as the chants begin in a meditative mood and move into Joy when the pace gets faster and faster - all while sending our prayers and Love into the world.
Let us join in song to transcend division and remember our Oneness as citizens of the Earth.
“Shanti Shivani's exquisite voice transmits a purity, clarity and depth of feeling that is rare. When she sings, it is as though the great Goddess herself is speaking directly to you, filling you with her warmth, light and divine grace.” - Sharron Rose, dancer/choreographer/ filmmaker, author of "The Path of the Priestess"
