Crafternoon!
Come help us create a Collective Shoebox “Fundaminiums” Community for a window display at MECCA!
Who doesn’t have fond memories of making a shoebox house as a kid? And if you don't, now's your chance to make those memories!
Come to The Hybrid Gallery 941 West 3rd Ave. Eugene in The Whit on Friday, July 18 from 1-4 PM to come be a part of a collective community art making project!
Come make your own miniature room- it can be anything! A house, a restaurant, a store! Or an art studio, a workshop, an underground nest for mythical creatures! Let your creativity run wild.
MECCA and The Hybrid are teaming up to make this a special afternoon of community creating for all ages! (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)
We’ll provide the materials, space, and help if you need it. Just show up with your imagination! We’ve got shoeboxes, cloth scraps, paper, wire, cardboard, tape, tissue paper, paint, corks, thread spools, bottle caps, and all kinds of other trinkets and bits. We’ve also got tools! Glue guns, tape, scissors, (and even some ex-acto knives for grown ups mature, supervised kiddos). Facilitators from both MECCA and The Hybrid will be onsite to help problem solve, brainstorm, and keep things flowing.
And here’s the extra fun part; If you leave your finished room with us (with your name and email address written on the bottom so you can get it back, of course) we’ll stack em up and your shoebox house will become part of the FUNDAMINIUM COMMUNITY ART DISPLAY at MECCA! A community built by community! How cool is that?!? Come be a part of it!
