Join the St. Louis River Alliance and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on Thursday, June 5 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Perch Lake Landing for ‘Beginning Fishing on the St. Louis River’. Designed especially for first-time anglers, this program is perfect for beginners and families. No experience necessary! Come learn the basics of casting into the water, baiting your hook, fish identification, and more.

**YOU DO NOT NEED A MN FISHING LICENSE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT; SLRA HAS BEEN GRANTED A PERMIT FOR ALL ATTENDEES.
This will be based on land and we will meet and park near Perch Lake Park Fishing Pier (MP5V+GCR, Duluth, MN 55808); parking will be directed by SLRA staff.

This event will be held rain or shine, however if lightning or thunder are present we will reschedule to Thursday, June 12, same time and location.
This event is made possible through the Great Lake Restoration Initiative and is intended to reconnect those who have been historically cut off from the river due to various reasons. Therefore, priority is given to those living in one of the 18 neighborhoods adjacent to the St. Louis River including: Carlton/Thomson, Cloquet/Scanlon, Cody, Denfeld, Fairmont, Fond du Lac Reservation, Fond du Lac Neighborhood, Gary-New Duluth, Irving, Lincoln Park, Morgan Park, Norton Park, Oneota, Riverside, Smithville, and Spirit Valley.
